The Concept

ESSENTRICS® draws on the flowing movements of TAI CHI which create health and balance, the strengthening theories behind BALLET which create strong & flexible muscles and the healing principles of PHYSIOTHERAPY which create a pain free body.  

Miranda Esmonde-White, Creator of Essentrics®

Miranda Esmonde-White is one of America’s greatest advocates and educators of healthy aging. She is best known for her fitness TV show on PBS, Classical Stretch—rated the #1 fitness show on the network for the last 15 years—and for creating Essentrics, the technique which the show is based on. Her education and interest in body mechanics began at a young age—she attended the National Ballet School in Toronto as of age 10 and went on to join the National Ballet Company upon graduation.

​Following her career as a professional ballerina, Miranda developed Essentrics and became a flexibility trainer and consultant to professional and Olympic athletes and celebrities.
Miranda’s New York Times Bestselling book, Aging Backwards, is revolutionizing the way we understand the role that fitness plays in slowing down the aging process by keeping our bodies young, strong and healthy. Based in Montreal, she spends her time developing the technique along with her daughter Sahra Esmonde-White, co-owner of Essentrics®.
