Feel Fabulous Functional Flow series
Monday & Wednesday mornings 10am
Dates: Monday, January 4th to Wednesday, January 27th

Tai Chi inspired flowing sequences, cognitive & balance training, foot strengthening exercises, joint mobility sequences, dynamic yet gentle functional movements designed to lubricate the many layers of connective tissue. You will feel energized from head to toe!


Move & Groove Essentrics series
Sundays 10am
Dates: January 3, 10, 17 and 24

Liberate your joints and connective tissue while simultaneously strengthening your entire body! 
This all-standing full body workout will activate your muscles from head to toe, strengthen your core, increase range of motion, improve posture, boost energy and leave you feeling fabulous!

Advanced Dynamic Functional Strengthening Series
Tuesdays 9:30am
Dates: January 5, 12, 19 and 26

Increasing the demands on your muscles to GET STRONGER! Build strength and muscle endurance with dynamic body weight movements including a Barre stretch & strengthening sequences.  This is a faster paced, higher intensity workout.

Due to the continued global spread of COVID-19, it is with heavy heart to announce that all live group classes have been temporarily suspended. The health and wellness of participants is my number one priority and concern.  I will continue to monitor and adhere to the recommendations of Toronto Public Health and the Public Health Agency of Canada. I will be providing regular email updates to my Essentrics and Aging Backwards participants. Thanking everyone for your AMAZING support!

Essentrics® Aging Backwards Series:  This dynamic, fun and fabulous series fills up quickly. 

Priority registration is offered to current and returning series participants. Drop in requests are subject to availability.
Advance Registration is required to attend and is done directly with Sheri Burge. Series registration opens a week prior to series start date.

ESSENTRICS® Barre Workout - Small group training series

In this small group training series, participants will have the opportunity to explore and deepen their understanding of functional movements and eccentric muscle loading techniques to strengthen, energize, balance and liberate the body. This is an intermediate to advanced all standing class format.

Space is limited. Advance Registration is required to attend and is done directly with Sheri Burge.

ESSENTRICS® Workout

Classes are located in the Recreation Room on the 6th floor. Essentrics class cards are valid for the Sunday Essentrics classes at Tobias House. They are NOT VALID for the Aging Backwards series or classes offered at other locations.

Get energized, move your body, unleash your awesomeness and feel fabulous from head to toe!! 
Bring an exercise/yoga mat and water bottle to class.  Comfortable clothing is ideal. Classes are done barefoot.  All classes offer a positive and supportive atmosphere where everyone is encourage to work at their own pace.

ESSENTRICS® AGING BACKWARDS WORKOUT
Discover how to reawaken the power of your 650 muscles and help increase mobility, improve flexibility and build strong bones.

The Essentrics® Aging Reversing workout will restore movement in your joints, flexibility and strength in your muscles, relieve pain, and stimulate your cells to increase energy, vibrancy and your immune system.  Miranda Esmonde-White, creator of Essentrics, is one of America's greatest advocates and educators of healthy aging. Best known for her PBS fitness show Classical Stretch and author of the New York Times bestselling book, Aging Backwards.  


This age reversing full-body technique is designed to slowly work through the muscle chains to rebalance and strengthen the body while addressing issues of atrophy-related stiffness, frozen shoulder, chronic aches and pain. 
 

ESSENTRICS® WORKOUT
Essentrics® is a fitness program, based on dynamic stretching & eccentric strengthening. The technique UNLOCKS & RE-BALANCES the entire body using a SYSTEMATIC approach to stretching & strengthening all 650 muscles.  Essentrics® strengthens and stretches every muscle in the body eccentrically, rebalancing the muscular structure in continuous rotational movements. 

With a diverse music playlist, this equipment free, low-impact workout leaves you feeling ENERGIZED, healthy & strong.  Benefits include improved POSTURE, greater joint MOBILITY, strengthened MUSCLES and pain RELIEF.
